The Empire State Building is celebrating the holidays with “ESB Unwrapped.” The month-long celebration features holiday decorations in the Fifth Avenue windows and Art Deco lobby, appearances by surprise guests and a tower light show, synchronized to holiday music.

Holiday decorations, designed by Mark Stephen Experiential Agency, features vignettes incorporating models of the Empire State Building with holiday scenes. The decorations feature the building’s Art Deco architecture and colors of gold, bronze and silver.

Holiday music will be offered throughout the month, beginning with a pianist in the lobby performing 8 to 11 a.m., 12 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Professional musicians will perform holiday hits on the Observatory’s 80th floor’s “Dare to Dream” exhibit. The performances will be offered Dec. 27 through 31, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Surprise appearances by Santa himself will take place on the 86th floor Observatory, and the tower lightings seen across New York will synchronize holiday songs to holiday lights. Special lightings will celebrate Chanukah, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
