As summer has kicked off, a travel company is offering reasons for children to get unplugged and learn about the ocean, just in time for World Ocean’s Day, June 8.
The Moorings, a yacht charter company offering all-inclusive bareboat and charted sailings along some of the world’s best coastal regions is launching a new Junior Captain’s Club. Children under 10 sailing with families in the British Virgin Islands between the end of July through mid-December will receice a special passport and Jr. Captain hat prior to arrival. The passport will include a map, word search, coloring pages, knot guides, picture scavenger hunt and more to encourage kids to go tech-free and learn about the ocean and yacht experience, checking off items and popular sites in BVI along the way.
BVI sailing charters include a captain and chef and provide room for six or more for a private family getaway on the water. Arriving by air in Tortola, you will be catered to from pickup with five-day sailings inclusive of food and drink for the entire family starting below $9,000. (Often lower or equal for a family to stay at an all-inclusive resort!) Children are welcome and water toys and games are offered.Families can also rent stand-up paddle boards, kayaks and fishing gear.
