Carnival Corporation received approval from the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of Commerce to begin cruise travel from the U.S. to Cuba. Carnival’s Fathom ship will begin offering Cuba on its itineraries in May 2016.
Fathom is Carnival’s newest ship, providing unique volunteering cruises, where passengers will embark on seven-day voyages from Miami to the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Guests will participate in an array of activities with educational, cultural and social impact. As a volunteering cruise, Carnival was able to meet the current U.S. criteria for authorized travel to Cuba.
Prices for the Cuban cruises will start at $2,990 per person, which will include onboard social impact immersion experiences and certain cultural immersion activities on the island.
