Historic Philadelphia is growing this spring. The new Museum of the American Revolution will open within steps of Benjamin Franklin’s home, Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.
Housing permanent and temporary exhibits, galleries, theaters and education space, the 118,000-square-foot museum will showcase America’s history of revolution and independence with immersive experiences and recreated historical scenes. The experience includes the Road to Independence, showcasing 1760 to 1776; the Darkest Hour, 1176 to 1778; A Revolutionary War, 1778 to 1783, and A New Nation, 1783 to present. The collection of artifacts featured include George Washington’s headquarters tent, uniforms and weaponry, and military items.
The Museum of the American Revolution will open in Philadelphia on April 19, 2017.
