According to AAA, a record number of people will travel for the year-end holidays.
The organization predicts 98.6 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home — that’s the highest forecast growth since 2009, and the highest travel volume on record.
Of the 98.6 million people who are expected to travel, 89.5 million will use a car and 5.7 million will fly; 3.4 million will travel by other means, such as train or bus.
Discounted airfare — down 7 percent this year, according to the report — along with low gas prices have contributed to the increase in holiday travel.
