Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana, is celebrating its 70th season with upgrades and restorations to beloved attractions.
The Legend, named for Ichabod Crane’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” is the park’s featured wooden roller coaster. It will return with a new double down, a fifth tunnel, and nearly 1,400 feet of track work for the Legend Reborn, debuting May 7, 2016.
Also returning to the park is the Freedom Train, Holiday World’s first ride. Although the ride will not be operational, the train has been restored to its original splendor and will be on display with other memorabilia from the park from the last 70 years.
Holiday World will open for its 70th season tomorrow, April 23, with Splashin’ Safari opening for its summer season on May 12.
