Overview

This towering, 25-story hotel is undergoing a $43-million overhaul through early-2016. It houses 667 rooms and suites. It is located 1.5 miles outside of Manhattan. It is near Columbus Park, just across the Brooklyn Bridge. A block from the hotel, families can get Broadway tickets at a discount booth. Accommodations feature bright, warm colors and modern amenities. Rooms contain flat-screen televisions, down comforters, opening windows and cribs or rollaway beds on request. Miniature refrigerators are also available. Families who need additional space can stay in larger rooms or suites with separate living areas. Double/Double rooms are best for families, as they have two beds. The Bar serves contemporary cuisine. Breakfasts are divine and lunches center on steaks and seafood. Families can delight in the hotel pool at this Marriott.

I stayed at this Marriott because it was the location of a conference I was attending. The location is great for a conference -- walkable area, restaurants nearby, and close to a subway station for easy access to anywhere in NYC (Manhattan was a quick 20 minute ride on the Lexington Ave. express). The room was comfortable and clean, although there was no place to store folded clothes except a shelf that was up so high I could barely reach it over the closet with no door (I'm 5'5"). The food options in the hotel are not great. The restaurant is exclusively available to members only. For breakfast, there are very pricey packaged food options in the lobby bar, along with coffee. (I was shocked to find that the bottled water was $5.99.) Oddly, there are no taxis available readily, but managed to get one a block away. Overall, good hotel, and I enjoyed Brooklyn.

My brother and I stayed at this hotel while visiting NYC. The hotel offers a beautiful view of Brooklyn & Manhattan Bridges from our room located at the 20th floor, but what made the difference of this hotel, was the staff, starting with MARIE at the Front Desk-Check in time, Donald, Madeline, Jacob and other co-workers Door man, Lobby staff (left of Front Desk, that I forgot their names).
This TEAM is a phenomenal staff who really made the difference on our NYC stay....just like HOME!
Thank you very much to all,
Very Respectfully,
P & WK
