Another delightful stay at Moonglow Lodge. This was our third visit and we keep adding more family members each time, all of whom are as enchanted as we are. The lodge is charming, comfortable and well-equipped. Although it was just a short stroll to the lake, it was difficult to choose between sitting on the comfy chairs at the dock, taking out one of the canoes or lounging on the screened in porch. Did I mention there was also corn hole as well as fishing poles??? There were also thoughtful recommendations provided for local tours and restaurants. The owner called us ahead of time to let us know which restaurants would be closed the days we were there.
The kitchen was well-equipped. There were even champagne glasses to toast our stay! We had no difficulty using the stove and it was a treat to have gas burners. We loved having a kettle grill as well. I appreciated that there was a selection of seasonings plus salt and pepper and cute paper napkins in a summery design. These extra little touches make me feel like a pampered guest.
We were concerned about the mugginess at this time of year but it was not an issue. The AC worked like a champ and the porch was perfect to hang out on because the fans kept the air moving. Sitting on the dock in the midst of the cyprus trees was magical and mystical and made comfortable by a gentle breeze.
My only negative is that our visit went by too quickly. We can't wait till next year!
