I've been in different hotels in the Caribbean for 10 years, the Mia Reef is the worst.
I went with my wife, she got sick with the food (salmonella), she was hospitalized for 3 days, and Mia Reef only worried that we check in time. We spent 7 thousand dollars in the hospital and the rest of our vacation in another hotel (Secrets Playa Mujeres) she was in a bed and moving in a wheelchair.
SR Horacio Aguilera - Director Operations MIA, you and your hotel so far did not return me a penny for all the evil that caused us. His lawyers no longer answer us.

My wife and I just got back from our first trip to Isla Mujeres. Awesome place to visit. I liked the laid back atmosphere of the island. The Mia was more than we expected in every way. My wife and I are avid snorkelers and try to incorporate snorkelling in most of our warm climate vacations. We loved the fact that you could do some pretty cool snorkelling right from the hotel. (Providing you got up early enough to beat the multiple tour groups that flocked in every day,) I was able to photograph a sting ray, Multiple Barracuda, Trumpet fish as well as a multitude of colorful reef dwellers all within sight of the Mia. Got a chance one day to explore the Kings bath tidal pool as well pretty cool!
The hotel staff where the best I have experienced on a Mexico vacation.
Rooms where Great!
Seriously can't think of anything to complain about on this trip, unless maybe it was the fact we had to leave for home.
Another thing.. The place is decorated with very unique pieces. The owners have done a great job of creating a unique atmosphere and experience. One that stands out in our list of previous destinations.
Thank You Mia Resort. You made our vacation very memorable!
