I have been to Meriki twice, first in 2016 and I was happy to come back this year (2018).
Seminyak has grown significantly trough the years, traffic and noise can be pretty annoying on main roads.
Meriki is just perfectly positioned to reach both the beach and the fancy restaurants and shops area, whilst staying two steps away from the traffic and the noise of the city.
The structure is simple, but well kept and with the balinese flavour you look for when visiting Bali. The pool is one or two steps above the rest. Definitely outstanding.
What really makes Meriki special though, is the people. Run by a Dutch man and his lovely Balinese wife, capable of providing that special sweet balinese welcome, but with the service standard you would expect in western Countries. Highly educated, they help you understanding the local culture, while providing any kind of support or suggestion to fully enjoy your stay on the island.

Staff were so friendly and helpful, really chilled out vibe, I stayed in the double apartment room with my friend which was nice for a bit more space and room to ourselves however the hostel rooms also looked great.
