The historic Menger Hotel is the oldest continuously operating hotel west of the Mississippi. Just steps from the Alamo, guests revel in the history, as well as the modern amenities. The three-story Victorian lobby wows guests. Opt to stay in the restored wing with its 19th century ambiance. The Spanish courtyard garden is filled with palm trees, azaleas and a three-tiered fountain. Rooms are fully renovated and feature one king bed or two queen-sized beds. Wi-Fi is complimentary. The small ‘Menger Petite’ rooms are historically accurate in size with one full bed, but with all of the hotel’s amenities at a less expensive rate.
The Colonial Room Restaurant and Menger Bar occupy one of the hotel’s oldest structures and bring guests back to the early days of the Texas Frontier. The Colonial Restaurant serves a breakfast and lunch buffet, Sunday Brunch and dinner with live entertainment for Sunday Brunch and Friday and Saturday evenings. Don’t miss the Mango ice cream!

The lady in charge of events, Monica Vega, was exceptionally helpful in planning our next year Reunion! Our stay was already first rate, but her help was the main reason we came. We look forward to next year!

Very cool old bar, excellent drinks, great prices, our bartender was extremely knowledgeable about the area and all of the history of the building. If you’re in San Antonio and nearby definitely stop in!!
