The Memories Splash Punta Cana has closed for renovations and will reopen as Grand Memories Splash in November, 2018.

Memories Splash Punta Cana has 585 guestrooms scattered throughout nine buildings, each with three floors. There are no elevators available, so keep that in mind when reserving your room if you prefer a ground-floor room. All rooms are nonsmoking, although smoking is permitted on balconies. Please note there are no oceanfront rooms at this property.

All rooms include the following amenities: free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, lots of bathroom amenities, a hairdryer, in-room safe, coffee and tea maker, mini-bar (restocked daily), room service (7 a.m. to 9 p.m.), iron, ironing board, and balcony or terrace.

Guests who choose to upgrade to Diamond Club service also receive personalized check-in/check-out; early check-in (10 a.m.) when available; late check-out (4 p.m.) when available; 24-hour concierge service; an exclusive beach area; beach towels; robes and slippers; and a 10-percent discount on spa treatments.

Family Deluxe Room
These guestrooms are outfitted with either two queen beds or one king bed, table and two chairs, dresser, desk and chair, and nightstands. The full bathroom includes a tub/shower combo. It also features a balcony or terrace with a table and two chairs that overlooks either the pool or gardens. Maximum occupancy is four adults (three adults and one child or two adults and two children).

Family Deluxe Jacuzzi Room
This guestroom comes with a king bed, a dresser, two nightstands, and table with two chairs. The full bathroom includes a Jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. There is a balcony or terrace with a table and two chairs that overlooks either the pool or gardens. Maximum occupancy is two adults.

Family Deluxe Jacuzzi Suite
In this two-room guestroom, there is one king bed, two nightstands and a dresser in the bedroom. In a separate den, you'll find either one set of bunk beds or a sofa bed, a nightstand, and a dresser. In the full bathroom, there is a Jacuzzi tub and a walk-in shower. Also, outside you'll find either a balcony or terrace complete with a table and two chairs that overlooks either the pool or gardens. Maximum occupancy is four adults or two adults and three children.

Family Premium Room
Available with either a pool or garden view, this guestroom includes two queen beds or one king bed, nightstands, a table with two chairs, a desk, and a dresser. The full bathroom has a tub/shower combo. The attached balcony or terrace comes with a table and two chairs. Maximum occupancy is four adults or two adults and two children.

Family Premium Jacuzzi Junior Suite
For more space, this guestroom is outfitted with two queen beds or one king bed, nightstands, a dresser, and a seating area with small sofa, chair and coffee table. The full bathroom features a Jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. Offering a pool or garden view, the attached balcony or terrace has two chairs and a table. Maximum occupancy is four adults or two adults and two children.

Diamond Club Premium Room
Featuring the same furnishings as the Family Premium Room, this guestroom offers a pool, garden or water park view, as well as the extra Diamond Club amenities and services listed above. Maximum occupancy is four adults or two adults and two children.

Diamond Club Premium Jacuzzi Junior Suite
This guestroom is the same as the Family Premium Jacuzzi Junior Suite except that it also includes the Diamond Club amenities and services listed above. Maximum occupancy is four adults or two adults and two children.

Diamond Club Presidential Jacuzzi One-Bedroom Suite
Offering the most space available, this two-room guestroom features a living room with sofa bed, side tables, coffee table, two chairs and dresser. Off the living room is a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo. In the bedroom, you'll find one king bed, two nightstands, a dresser, a large Jacuzzi tub, and a large walk-in shower. The bathroom area is open except for the water closet, which does include a door. There are two balconies or terraces, each with a table and two chairs. Also, there are separate entrances, one leading into the living room, while the other enters the bedroom. This guestroom also includes the Diamond Club amenities and services listed above. Maximum occupancy is four adults or two adults and two children.

Activities take place throughout the property and are easy to locate using the map received at check-in, as well as the posted property maps. Guests can walk to all activities, or, if they prefer, take the tram that runs throughout the property.

Splash Thematic Park
In this onsite water park, guests can enjoy seven waterslides and a wave pool with dumping bucket. There is a separate toddler area with a wading pool, waterslides and splash pad area. Lounge chairs and towel service are available. Minimum height allowed is 4 feet. All children must be under adult supervision at all times. Lifeguards are on duty at all waterslides, in the toddler area and in the wave pool.

Park hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Note: No food or alcohol is permitted in the water park; however, non-alcoholic drinks are allowed.

Pools
There are three swimming pools available: two large swimming pools and one kids' pool. Towel service is available at both large swimming pools. Pool hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. No lifeguards are on duty at any of the pools.

The main swimming pool, called the Splash Pool (3.94 feet deep) and located in the center of the property, hosts activities and music throughout the day. Activities range from Spanish lessons and water polo to dance lessons and games such as horseshoes, ring toss and Ping-Pong. Wellness and fitness programs, including yoga, aqua fitness and Zumba, take place three times each day. A complete schedule is available at the front desk.

A life-size chess game is located on one side of the patio. You'll also find a hot tub adjacent to the main pool, and the kids pool (.98 feet up to 1.3 feet deep) is just steps away. In addition, there is a swim-up bar; however, there are no bathrooms in the immediate vicinity, so you'll have to go back to your room or head to the Bubbles Pool, where bathrooms are located. Lounge chairs are scattered around the pool, as well as a few umbrellas. A snack bar is available.

The second large swimming pool, known as the Bubbles Pool (3.94 feet deep), is known as the quieter swimming pool. Located near the front of the property not far from the main lobby, this pool hosts life-enriching activities and workshops at 4 p.m. each day. These include cigar rolling, sushi workshops and a rum tasting, among others. A complete schedule is available at the front desk. There is a swim-up bar and snack bar, as well as bathrooms located at this pool. Also, one side of this pool is reserved exclusively for Diamond Club guests.

Beach
Memories Splash Punta Cana is NOT a beachfront property; to access the beach, guests will need to walk (approximately 10 to 15 minutes depending on the location of your guestroom) or take the tram to the neighboring Hotel Royalton Punta Cana. Upon arrival at Hotel Royalton Punta Cana, guests must proceed through the hotel's open-air lobby and walk across the plaza and past the swimming pools to the beach. There is specific seating for guests of Memories Splash Punta Cana located on the beach that includes lounge chairs and some permanent umbrellas. All are first come, first served. Snacks and bar service are available.

Note: Memories Splash Punta Cana guests are NOT permitted to use the swimming pools at Hotel Royalton Punta Cana.

Clubhouse Kids Club
Geared toward children ages 4 to 11, the Treehouse Kids Club is open daily from 9:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. The club staff hosts a variety of activities each day, ranging from face painting and tree climbing to science workshops and pizza making, and so much more. Check the schedule for a complete listing.

Also, the club holds character greetings at Selections Buffet throughout the week at 10 a.m. See the schedule for exact days. In addition, there is a playground in the fenced-in backyard of the club.

Teens Club
Open daily from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. for guests ages 11 to 17, the teen center features games, computers, skateboards/helmets and a daily schedule of activities. From 9 to 11 p.m., the club turns into a disco. Activities include beach soccer, Ping-Pong tournaments, tennis lessons, Frisbee and more.

Social Plaza
A variety of activities are held daily on the Social Plaza, ranging from live music to dance lessons and more. Check the activity schedule for a list of current events.

Sports
The property has one basketball court and three hard tennis courts with lights. Non-motorized water sports such as kayaking and snorkeling are available. Introductory scuba lessons are offered in the swimming pool. Motorized water sports are available for an additional fee.

Additional Activities
Next door at Hotel Royalton Punta Cana, guests can visit the theater, casino and XS Night Club. The theater hosts entertainment shows throughout the week at 9 p.m. Check the schedule for the current lineup.

In addition, guests can book a tour or excursion at the tour desk located next to Guest Services in the main lobby. Ask for a complete schedule of available tours, as well as pricing.

At Memories Splash Punta Cana, you'll find three a la carte restaurants, as well as a main buffet restaurant. At the neighboring property of Hotel Royalton Punta Cana, you can dine at several restaurants, although an additional fee is required. You'll also find 11 bars, including three swim-up bars at the pools, located around the property. Reservations are not required at any restaurant at Memories Splash Punta Cana. All restaurants are nonsmoking.

Selections Buffet
This onsite, international, buffet restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a casual atmosphere. You'll also find a kids' buffet, healthy buffet and fresh fruit juices.

Mexicana Cantina
Serving dinner, this casual restaurant features a menu of indigenous Mesoamerican cooking with European, particularly Spanish cuisine.

Bella Cucina
Enjoy the rich flavors and aromas of your favorite Italian dishes at this onsite dinner restaurant.

Under the Sea
This restaurant features a menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts that include such items as crab cakes, tuna tartare, seafood linguine, beef tenderloin, vegetarian wrap, creme brulee, lemon tart and more.

Coffee Lounge
Near Social Plaza, guests can grab a coffee, hot tea, sandwich, pastry or dessert at this small eating spot.

Grazie Trattoria
Choose your favorite Italian dishes, ranging from fettuccine carbonara, spaghetti bolognese, and surf and turf risotto to pepperoni pizza, pork tenderloin and tiramisu, plus a daily antipasti bar. Also open for a grilled lunch overlooking the beach (lunch included with your stay).

Opa Mediterranean Restaurant
Try a few Greek specialties from a menu filled with starters, soups, main dishes and desserts. Choose the spanakopita, Greek Village salad or Homer's velvet cream soup, before moving on to Athenian grouper, seafood casserole or Mediterranean vegetables. Finish with black forest cake or baklava. A separate kids' menu features hot dog and fries, chicken fingers, ham and cheese sandwich, beef burger, and pizza, plus ice cream and chocolate brownie served with ice cream.

Hunter Steakhouse
In this earth-toned restaurant, enjoy a few selections from the menu of starters, main plates, side dishes and desserts. Sample menu items include house Caesar salad, onion soup au gratin, filet mignon, pork chop a la cider, mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, apple tart and Bailey's flan, among others.

The Art of Smart Timing
Memories Splash Punta Cana experiences year-round temperatures ranging from 82 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit, with a year-round water temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit. However, high humidity can make it feel warmer than the actual air temperature. Therefore, the property's high season runs from December through April when humidity is low. The low season runs from June through November, when families will find the best room rates.

Getting There
Memories Splash Punta Cana is approximately a 30-minute drive from Punta Cana International Airport. A one-way taxi ride from the airport to the property is approximately $30. The hotel does not provide shuttle service. To book an airport transfer, speak to the hotel directly prior to arrival. You can wait until you arrive at the airport to arrange a transfer, but it's best if you book it before arrival.

Getting Around
Memories Splash Punta Cana does not offer any complimentary shuttle service in Punta Cana; however, if you plan to take an offsite excursion, round-trip transportation usually is included in the price of the excursion. If you want to explore the local area, plan to pay out-of-pocket for taxi service. Rental cars are available at the airport, but are not recommended unless you are staying for a lengthy vacation and plan to do a lot of your own sightseeing.

For Mom and Dad
For some special alone time, parents should head next door to Hotel Royalton Punta Cana, where they can splurge on themselves with spa treatments at the Royal Spa. Afterward, they can enjoy an evening meal at Hunter Steak House (additional fee required) followed by drinks and dancing at XS Night Club.
