We just returned from our fourth visit to Anguilla (stayed May 25-June 1, 2019), but our first trip to Meads Bay Beach Villas. We stayed at CeBlue and Malliouhana on prior holidays. We are so delighted that we ended up in Villa 2 at MBBV. Why is it such a perfect place for a relaxing vacation?
-The staff could not be more helpful, effective, or delightful. This is a top-notch operation. My first interactions via phone with Matt, who patiently answered all of my questions, filled me with confidence that this vacation would be a good one. Our lovely welcome tour with Joan (she was incredibly efficient, kind, and helpful throughout our stay) and Cheryl set the stage for a great week. Our daily chats with Burton were a memorable part of the MBBV experience. The housekeeping and landscaping staff members were in constant motion, but always stopped to introduce themselves and chat. No one ever walked by us without greeting us warmly and asking us about our visit.
-The accommodations - We had an extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated, well-equipped, and immaculate villa. The kitchen has everything you need to be self sufficient, including two coffee makers and an electric tea kettle. The A/C works well, and it is easy to control in each room. The bathrooms have plenty of clean towels, robes, slippers, and toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, soaps, shower caps). There is an iron/ironing board and a safe in each bedroom. The half bath is an extra convenient feature. There is also a private outdoor shower. This is the quietest accommodation that we have ever had on a vacation. I am a very light sleeper, and i loved the fact that I could not hear any external noises. The villa pool was a true luxury, and it was cleaned/maintained everyday that we were there. The water temperature was perfect. The deck furniture is high end and comfortable. The view of the ocean is lovely. There are plenty of fluffy, clean beach towels to use.
-The entire property is beautifully maintained and private. it is obvious that the MBBV team takes great pride in creating an oasis for visiting guests. The location so close to the beach was ideal. It was only a few steps to walk to the beach and so convenient to go back to the villa to get drinks, visit the bathroom, or take a quick dip in the pool.
-The beach is immaculate with soft white sand. There was no coral or seaweed to step on, We love to swim in the ocean for exercise, and the water was clear and the waves were extremely gentle whilst we were there. MBBV is located right next to Straw Hat restaurant (our favorite), and full, rapid beach service is available (just get a flag to indicate when you need anything). Loungers on the beach are standard and plentiful. The umbrellas were in great shape and really easy to put up and down as needed. The location on the beach is very central, so it is easy to walk to all of the restaurants and resorts located along the full span of Meads Bay Beach.
The only real issue that we experienced, internet connectivity instability, was addressed swiftly and taken seriously, as my husband needed to work for a period of time each day and is very internet dependent.
Our family of three, a couple and a teenager, truly enjoyed our stay at MBBV. We found it to be the most peaceful and relaxing vacation that we have ever had together, and we intend to return ASAP.
