“Cowboy up” at Mayan Dude Ranch, a lively resort in Bandera, Texas. Your family of cowboys will begin each day with a hearty breakfast of eggs, hash browns, thick-sliced bacon, cowboy sausage, oven-fresh biscuits and even southern grits. After that, head out for a horseback ride or trail ride, included with your stay. If you’re looking to cool off, try tubing down the Medina River or diving into the ranch’s swimming pool.
During the summer, Mayan Dude Ranch features themed activities each day of the week. On Sundays, guests enjoy the Mayan Hoedown at the pool pavilion, where they indulge in grilled steaks and a game of Western Bingo. A Mexican fiesta is held on Wednesdays, complete with traditional Mexican fare and a Mariachi band.
At the end of the day, families retire to their individual cottages or lodge rooms. Individual cottages are offered in one, two or three-bedroom variations, and lodge rooms include one room with a king-size bed adjoined by one room with two double beds.

This place is a great place to stay as it has activities that are great for all ages. From playing horseshoes to horseback riding, the schedule is full with just the right amount of rest time in between and each day brings something new. Finally, the staff is super friendly and the food is terrific. I definitely recommend.
