A tiki hut in the middle of the rain forest is an opportunity to immerse your children in this fragile eco system. Maya Mountain Lodge coordinates excursions through the rain forest as well as cave tours, canoeing and kayaking. But there’s also a pool and horseback riding. Learn a little more about Belizean cuisine in a cooking class designed for all ages. The lodge is within walking distance or a short taxi hop of San Ignacio Town, a key element if your kids (or you) get antsy and are looking for a little variety in food and people-watching.

My wife and I stayed here in February and had a wonderful stay. All the staff were extremely friendly. The grounds are very well kept and there is a tour of the gardens that teaches you different types of plants and herbs that can be used medicinally. The kitchen uses veggies grown on the grounds. The restaurant food was quite good for the price you pay and the staff is awesome. We enjoyed the theme nights they have and my wife took a cooking class that she really enjoyed. For the price we paid, we were very happy there and do plan on returning. Alec and Amanda

I regretfully visited this place with my boyfriend in May 2019. This place does not look like what they show in the pictures. It is completely runned down and Owners don't seem to care. They even treat their workers like slaves. Once an employee is no longer needed they fire them without giving them what is properly due to them even though they gave their best to have this place up and running. We overheard some employees talking about this when we were in our room. It's such a shame. We do not support any hotel/resort that treats their valuable employees like that.
We also wanted to do some tours with them but we ended up booking them in town since they were way much cheaper and with great guides. We did had a few of their meals. They were really delicious meals but very expensive as well. You can pay half the price down town for the same quality.
Overall, stay away from this place! This place do false advertisements just to get your hard earned money while treating their great staff like slaves!
