This Marriott is nestled in the rolling woodlands in the private Ford’s Colony near Colonial Williamsburg. Families stay in one- or two-bedroom villas with full kitchens, separate living and dinner areas, washer/dryer units and enclosed balconies. Select units have fireplaces that add a cozy touch to the rooms. Standard rooms have upscale amenities, like DVD players and microwaves. Marriott MarketPlace is a deli-style convenience store with Pizza Hut, Starbucks and to-go food for all meals. The posh community has onsite golf courses, a fitness center and three pools (one just for kids). Guests can bike or hike along trails across the property. MAZE Kids Club takes place at an onsite activity center. Kids enjoy games, crafts and evening program while parents can spend quality alone time together. A good place to start is with massages at The Spa at Manor Club. Busch Gardens is also a short drive away — consistently coming in as a top attraction for families.

As other reviewers have mentioned the GPS directions are confusing and will eventually get you to the golf clubhouse rather than the registration area. At the traffic circle just beyond the clubhouse follow the Marriott signs and you’ll be fine. It’s located in a very upscale community but pretty far away from the “action” with many high traffic roads to navigate to and fro. That all being said, it’s a stunningly pretty campus with large rooms, nicely appointed and thoughtful touches everywhere. We were there for history so we didn’t use any of the resort facilities. It’d be a fine choice, though, if your plan was simply to relax.

Nice room, has a kitchnette with refirgerator, freezer, microwave. 2 tv's, jacuzzi tub, shower. Very clean. Little perplexed about my bill, I thought it was going to come out about $150 and it ended up $213. Little bit of a hike to the office, and if you're GPS is an older model, might be difficult to find in the dark, as the check in office sits off a difficult to deciper traffic circle.
