The reason I mentioned old and new decor in the title is because the public & outdoor areas are very modern and up-to-date, while we found the furniture and decor in our room to be a bit dated. That's not to say that there was anything wrong with our room. Quite the opposite. Our room was very clean, comfortable and well-maintained. Staff service was top-notch. Everyone, including front desk, housekeeping, bellman, and room service, took care of our needs, even answering questions and anticipating our needs before we even asked. The 360 Grille provides fine dining with great ambiance. While we didn't visit Swampers Bar & Grill, a number of their menu items are available thru Room Service, which we did enjoy. Speaking of Room Service, be sure to bring a big appetite, or plan to share, with a partner. The portions they bring are HUGE and delicious. My wife enjoyed their soothing spa, and we both enjoyed their pool and hot tub (indoor/outdoor, for each). "Resort" is not just a word in this hotel's title. They truly provide a Resort experience.

Although a little careworn in some areas, this is a great location for Muscle Shoals. Our room had a balcony, overlooking the extensive swimming pools and the river and dam beyond. Just a few miles away from the Muscle Shoals Sound Studios and the Fame studios and a bit further to the Alabama Music hall of Fame. The large Swampers bar pays tribute to the local musicians who played on so many legendary tracks, and has many photos and artefacts. Casual evening dining and buffet breakfasts are served here, including an outdoor terrace overlooking the pools. The 360 fine dining restaurant, rotating slowly at the top of the tower, is well worth a visit for its spectacular views, although the food was fairly average (overdone steak) and expensive. There is a useful coin operated guest laundry in the hotel.
