THE GOOD: Compared to other lodging in this area, this is a very good choice. It offers an enjoyable resort experience, It is in a great location and it is easy to get to. Typical resort-style pool and all the amenities, including the swim up bar in the pool and a spa for the ladies. Restaurants were okay (what you would expect at a family style resort). All the staff we came in contact with (except for one) was cheerful and happy to be of service (when asked). Rooms spacious and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job. Beach is about 50 steps away from the pool. We saw baby turtles one morning leaving their nest for the freedom of the ocean.
THE BAD. 1) Had raccoons visit us at our table in one of the restaurants one evening (the staff did get them to leave finally). 2) One bartender at the pool was not a happy person for some reason and that had a bad impact on our experience. 3) Floors of the toilet stalls off the lobby were covered with water when we visited them. 4. Spa a little overpriced for a resort of this type. 5). Restaurants offer little for those on a plant-based (vegan) diet. 6) Sat at the pool for 5 hours one day and not employee came by and asked if they could get me anything (drink, food, etc.).
TOUR RECOMMENDATION: There are lots of tour operators in the area offering you many different types of activities. We did lots of research and ended up booking an ATV & Snorkeling tour with "Pininos Adventures Transfer & Tour". If you are looking for a different and exciting tour, try that one out. Carlos was our guide that day and he was excellent!

I spent 5 nights here with my wife for a conference and was very pleased we chose this location. The beach it is located on was absolutely beautiful with sunsets hitting perfectly in the middle of the horizon. Fun waves for a little body surfing but plenty of safe areas for kids to play. The pool was beautiful and there are several restaurant options at the resort and 3-4 more just a few minutes walk away. The staff was genuinely happy for us to be there and hit the perfect zone of being helpful but allowing us to relax without constantly being asked for drink orders.
My wife had a massage at the spa and was very impressed (she is a massage connoisseur) and with a discount by booking the day we arrived it was very cheap.
