If you want mildew and mold, this is your place.
First, super location! However , before you go any further, ask yourself “How important is your health”. Upon arrival we were hit with a smell of mold/mildew. We slept through the night and tried to deal with it. We are “tough guys” speak and it was a father/son/grandson trip so we tried to make the best of it. Next morning however,we woke with watery eyes and congestion.
I pulled out the furnace filter and it looked new, but the very cheapest possible filter available. I could see right through the filter. I could read a book through it. It certainly was filterIng nothing more than maybe basic dust.
We called the property management company the following day and asked for a “real” filter (one that would filter not only dust but mold and mildew) and general cleanup (Lysol, etc.).
When we arrived home later in the day, it smelled like someone sprayed Glade. That’s about it.
I don’t know what the risk is of staying in a docile with mold or mildew or or to what degree/how long it takes to make someone sick, but knowing that people use respirators and masks/full body suits to treat these situations was enough to make me write this review.
There are better, or at least “healthier”, places to stay in Destin or FWB.
