Want to stay right in Glacier National Park during your visit? Many Glacier Hotel is the largest hotel inside the park and is situated on Swiftcurrent Lake — known to many as the “Switzerland of America.”
The hotel — which was partially renovated in 2016 — offers 205 traditional guestrooms, two suites, and seven family rooms. ADA rooms are also available. Guestrooms have free Wi-Fi, though service is spotty due to the hotel’s remote location.
The Many Glacier Hotel offers a restaurant, bar, and gift shop. Just outside the hotel’s doors, you can go horseback riding, boat on the lake, hop on one of Glacier National Park’s iconic Jammers, or participate in ranger programs.

We went to the Many Glacier Lodge to see the structure, It is indeed an old historic lodge that is well worth seeing. We ate breakfast there and got the buffet. It was later in the morning so some items were not well stocked. It was a good average buffet. The lobby is amazing with a beautiful view of the lake. This is a must item if you are in the area.

We spent two nights here during a long stay in the park. We were coming out of the backcountry and welcomed the amenities of the hotel. As others have mentioned, it is an iconic historic building in a beautiful setting! The room we stayed in was lovely, plenty big enough and very clean. The only thing that was disappointing was the staff we intereacted with on various occassions. For the price you pay to stay here, staff should be a bit more friendly. I know what a pain some guests can be, however, we were treated like intruders when trying to get information regarding the room we were staying in (the reservation was in my mother in-laws name). The response from the woman behind the counter was rude and not necessary. I absolutely understand that they can't give out someone's room number, however it isn't difficult to pick up the phone and ring a room (of which she asked me what room number which is the exact information I was trying to find out, we arrived at different times). With no cell reception, the woman at the desk could have been a little less annoyed and a little more helpful. The other thing that was a bummer was another woman telling my nehpew to be quiet at 7:30 a.m. in the lobby when he got excited to see one of the staff in their leaderhoissen (I don't think that's how you spell that). He's 5 and was excited...and not that loud.
All that's to say, it's a remarkable place and the staff could use a little more training
And yes, the road in is VERY rough. They are working with an engineer to rectify the problem but it is more complex than a simple repaving job.
