Our family of 4 planned for a late spring skiing trip and at the recommendation of the Deer Valley concierge that helped me book over the phone, we chose the Lodges. We arrived and had a smooth check in on a Wednesday afternoon. That evening, we noticed that the drain in the master shower was not draining at all and was gurgling black and gray goop. The next morning, we let the front desk know. When we arrived back at the room that afternoon, there was a note indicating the drain had been fixed by maintenance. It indeed had, however once we tried to shower, we discovered that the floor of the shower was covered in whatever trash, goop and hair had been recovered from the clogged drain. Whilst they’d fixed the drainage problem, there had been no effort to clean up the mess. This was the second night of four in the suite that the shower in the master suite we’d paid for was not usable. The next morning, we alerted the front desk yet again, that housekeeping needed to clean the shower. I returned to the room mid-afternoon and happened to there when housekeeping came for the day. I told them to please make sure to clean the full bathroom and shower, as we had since noticed that the trash and disgusting goop from the drain was also all over the floor of the rest of the bathroom. Housekeeping was in the room for a total of 6 minutes. They did not clean the bathroom at all. By that afternoon, we had had enough of this. We let the front desk know once again we were extremely dissatisfied and would be leaving even. It was not the experience we had paid for. We asked that given our issues with our room, that they refund us the last night of our stay, despite the fact we had prepaid. The manager, Evan, agreed and promised to call the next day with details on when we would see this credit hit our account. It has now been more than 2 weeks, we’ve received no credit as promised and Evan continues to make empty promises that he is following up on this. Extraordinary disappointing for a resort that promises first class experience for all guests. Having skied at Deer Valley since we were children 20 years ago, we are done. Steamboat, Vail and Heavenly will get our money from now on. We won’t be back to Deer Valley.
