So much fun riding through Fantasy in Lights on bike night! Enjoyed the trolleys in years past. The accommodations first rate as always. Purchase the package with room, breakfast and tickets for Fantasy in Lights. This includes access to all facilities and an ornament to remember your trip. It is well worth it!

We chose to stay here for the convenience to Callaway Gardens and the March of Dimes night walk. Our room had coffee/wine stains all over the floors, broken seats on the balcony chairs, a broken television remote (SEC football!), and partially used hot tea supplies. No extra blankets or towels for this hotel. I called the front desk to request a remote and extra towels at 10:30 p.m. Around 11:50 p.m. a lady knocked 4 times. I was woken up when I realized I heard her try to use a key to enter our door. I then heard the staff member tell the front desk that she had knocked and tried to use the key on our door, but it wasn’t working. A quick call from the front desk confirmed I wasn’t dreaming. ***Since when does a resort instruct staff to deliver towels by just entering a room around midnight!?
The Piedmont Room dining was slightly disappointing. Not because of the staff, but because of the food. French toast and omelette station were underdone. The staff had to dip bread into the egg mixture for French toast and go across the whole station to the griddle. Can you say cross contamination? No gloves or washing of the hands...while the same person stirred and flipped omelettes. Other stations were just okay with lumpy gravy, dry biscuits, and overly rich (cream) grits. The coffee was actually spot on.
Callaway Gardens Lodge Resort and Spa—please consider the same upkeep for your overly priced hotel that you provide for your plant beds, fields, and forests.
On a side note—REPAVE the road where the night walk takes place. Several large potholes were dangerous stumbling blocks. Flashlights cannot help anyone see the problems on these paths as some of these cracks and dips appear very small and are actually more than 5-6 inches.
