The LEGOLAND Windsor Hotel is an exciting stay for children of the right age. It has a huge LEGO-themed entrance and there are LEGO characters and references to the popular LEGO themes all around the hotel. The rooms themselves are divided up into four theme categories: pirate, LEGO friends, kingdom and adventure.
The hotel is located right on LEGOLAND’s doorstep and with the early-bird park entry that hotel guests get, it’s possible to go and get on the rides at 9:30 a.m.! The hotel is 10 minutes by car to Windsor and 20 minutes to Heathrow airport. There’s a pirate-themed swimming pool, LEGO play pits, board games and a bar for adults who need a break from the LEGO theme!

From arrival everything was smooth sailing as far as getting to our rooms. We parked our car in the spacious parking lot and some lovely ladies helped us with our luggage. Check in was easy and staff were helpful and attentive. There is a lego pit and a small jungle gym inside which our kids loved.
Our rooms were pirate themed and my 4 year old daughter absolutely loved it. The room was spacious with separate sleeping area for the kids with their own tv. My little girl was over the moon having her own bunk bed and tv. In the room, there is also a treasure chest of sort and the kid needs to answer some clues to get the right combination for the safe; very nice touch and just the right difficulty for a young child.
The room, however, wasn't very clean and the bathroom smelled pretty bad. But my kid was so smitten with the bunk bed that she absolutely refused to change it.
The bricks restaurant was incredibly busy and food options were not great. Breakfast was good but dinner quality was pretty poor.
Check out again was a breeze, we found a small slip of paper under our door instructing us to leave the card key in the check out box, and we were on our way.

Arrived at the Legoland Hotel early and as we walked in the door, someone greeted us and took our bags to have taken up to our room. We were given a keycard to access level R, where there is a fantastic kids play area, lots of seating and a bar where you can wait and the kids can play until your room is ready.
Went back down to reception to check in at 3 to find it was very busy but the queue moved really quickly and we got checked in fine. We had a Ninjago bedroom on level 4 - the room was fantastic. So much space, clean, well stocked with tea and coffee, etc. The theming was out of this world and the separate kids area was brilliant. My 6 year old has never been so happy. Add to that the Legoland TV channel showing all his favourites and you're onto a winner! We had swimming booked at 4pm which was great fun. We then headed to Bricks for our 6pm reservation. After reading all the negative reviews on here we didn't expect much and decided it was more about our little one having a good time than us. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Was it the best food I've ever eaten? No. Was it hot, fresh, plentiful and with a good selection? Yes. Breakfast was the same. Plenty to choose from, all hot, all good food and no complaints here. Maybe as it was out of season and the park was closed the staff were under less pressure? All the staff we encountered throughout the weekend were friendly, helpful and courteous.
There's plenty to entertain the little ones for the whole stay, including indoor and outdoor play areas.Everywhere we went was clean and well maintained. We only paid £139 for a room that is £500+ during peak season so maybe that makes for happier customers?
Negatives: The shop seemed a bit on the small side! We were expecting something bigger with a larger selection. The entertainment was a bit lacklustre and the characters very disappointing. When we read there would be characters, we were expecting Emmett or Lloyd Garmadon...instead we got pink brick. And red brick. Not sure if we missed the better ones?! Also, when we checked out, we got to the car park to discover a sizable dent in our car door. No CCTV close to where we were and we can't blame the resort for this but a disappointing end to an otherwise lovely stay. Maybe install more security/CCTV?
I would have happily given 5/5 if there was more coherent entertainment and better characters milling around. Would happily return though!
