I chose this property for its reputation and my past history of staying at Le Meridien's in other cities. I have never had a problem with this hotel chain before, so I feel it necessary to point out that this review says more about this location than the Le Meridien brand.
Check in was fine. The room was adequate. Two complaints: very dark (insufficient lighting) and throughout the night I heard random "pings" and "dings" from the HVAC system that made sleeping difficult. Also the bed and pillows were excessively soft, making sleep doubly difficult.
I like to work out when I am on business trips, so I was disappointed that the workout facility had limited equipment (two elliptical machines, but neither functioned properly: resistance levels fluctuated randomly on BOTH machines and neither ear phone jack worked. If that isn't enough, the room's water cooler ran out of water. When I pointed this fact out to the on-service desk agent, he told me there was nothing he could do about it since "there is no one here to take care of that." It didn't seem like an insurmountable problem, and I believe his attitude was far below the level of responsiveness a hotel of this quality should exhibit.
Food at the hotel was below average. I ended up having to eat a lunch and dinner there.
This hotel is permanently off my list of options when i come to Tampa, and i will be sharing my thoughts with my business partners who also frequent the city.

We booked this hotel through Snap Travel. When we arrived they had no record of the reservation. That was not their fault it was snap travels fault. Night supervisor Destiny was extremely helpful in solving the issue and in the end honored the price quoted by snap travel even though we had to start from scratch. I’d give her alone 5 stars. The other front desk people also very helpful when we checked out but wanted to hang at the pool awhile before our flight. So staff was great. Hotel is very clean. Beds very comfortable but the room was small and dark. Walls painted gray. Modern but not a cozy feeling. AC vent aimed right at my head with no way to adjust it.
