Overview

Located in the rustic town of West Yellowstone, this motel is less than a mile from the entrance to the Montana side of the park. Unlike most motels, the Lazy G has family-sized units with two bedrooms, extra rollaway beds and cots as needed, and the option of a kitchenette, so you can take advantage of low prices without cramming yourselves into a tiny single room. However, if you’re visiting during summer, note that rooms do not have air conditioning, so it’s up to you whether the affordability is worth it.
Each unit includes free wifi, a refrigerator, satellite TV, and access to the picnic area and grill. Although no breakfast is served at the motel, there’s a great pancake house just down the street.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Lazy Z while touring Yellowstone. This is an older motel with parking near each room. It is just off the main street of West Yellowstone. We were in unit 1 which has a tiny kitchenette. Fortunately, it has 2 small refrigerators, which were both needed to hold our food. I was able to cook simple meals on the range top and microwave. There is no oven. There are not enough cooking utensils that are in good shape. For example, the spatula was too deteriorated and one pot was too warped to use. Otherwise, our stay was great! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The lady in the office (owner?) was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. She was very responsive to any problem or question. The Lazy G is an excellent choice for those looking for clean lodging at a price point that is good for this high price area.

Most important the rooms are clean. The staff was great. The rooms are pretty outdated. Beds were not that comfortable. If you need air conditioning do not stay here because the rooms DO NOT have any. But it was clean
