These lovely casitas are steps from the white-sand beach of Akumal Bay, a calm bay protected from the breakers. They're super-clean and light; the 3 I've seen (#16, 17, and 18) are decorated beautifully and comfortably. Well-furnished kitchens if you want to cook and eat at "home", though there are great restaurants within easy walking distance. The upstairs beach-facing bedroom is heaven. Little details like a hand-held outdoor shower head to wash off the sand, or a fan on the lanai, make everything just a little easier and better. It's also a perfect base for touring the surrounding area; the Akumal Dive Shop (steps from the Casitas) arranges some tours, but other tour guides are familiar with the Casitas and can pick you up there.

We have rented condos through Las Casitas 3 times now and each time has been magical. The beachfront condos are so comfortable, there’s daily maid service and water delivery and you have the flexibility to cook and eat casually with family which is plus for us.
We love Akumal. The people, town, scenery and way of life are just so relaxing and tranquil. The most you have to remember is where you left your flip flops.
It’s certainlt more rustic and traditional than a glitzy Cancun all inclusive but you get a real taste of the local flavor and a chance to interact and become part of the little village. Be ready for bugs, humidity, and adorable local cats who beg for treats and attention. We recommend Casitas #14 & 8, but they certainly each have their charms.
The private beach is a treat, closely monitored by private patrol and designated solely for use by casitas guests.
We recommend for anyone looking to have an authentic experience yet still be comfortable.
