Overview
by Lissa Poirot
In 2013, upscale hotelier Langham Corporation took over a Fifth Avenue property in Manhattan, renovating it and transforming it into a property worthy of its name. Many incorrectly view the property as being a luxury hotel for business travelers, and its Fifth Avenue location may lend to that opinion, but the hotel prides itself on being family friendly, and offers a number of family packages. Look for Family Getaway packages with tickets for nearby Empire State Building, Little Collectors packages with books, games and puzzles inspiring kids to enjoy the nearby museums, and more.
The hotel also offers family suites with kitchenettes and washers and dryers, and provides welcome amenities for kids that include books and games.

Great location. Large room with all the amenities you could possibly need. But best of all? Friendly, helpful staff - and amazing bed time cookies. The best Manhattan hotel I’ve stayed in - so much so that I even dug out my password to write this review.

New York City is a year-round vacation destination and the Langham finds itself busiest during the Christmas season. A family-friendly hotel, it finds weekdays dedicated to business travelers, who extend into weekends when their families join them for trips.

The Langham is located on Fifth Avenue, between Bryant Park and Grand Central Station. The hotel is 30 minutes from JFK and Newark airports and 15 minutes from LaGuardia, by taxi or car.
Getting Around
The hotel is not located in the midst of the Times Square or Central Park attractions, but it is located on prestigious Fifth Avenue, where many come for the best shopping. Families can walk, take taxis or jump on the subway to maneuver through the city. The hotel also has cars available by request, first-come, first-served. Valet parking is available at the hotel for an additional fee.
For Mom and Dad
As part of the hotel's renovations, the Langham converted the Spa into the Chuan Body + Soul Spa. Head there for a relaxing treatment.
