This slice of paradise is for the family that truly wants to get away to a quiet, more intimate part of the island of Grenada. La Sagesse Hotel, Restaurant & Beach Bar is located on a small, beautiful bay surrounded by lush countryside. Mike and Nancy Meranski, have been operating La Sagesse since 1987, so there is much longitude with the current managers, as well as passion and pride in the 12-room boutique resort.
All rooms are within 30 feet of the beach and include fully screened windows and ceiling fans to augment the sea breeze. There are no TVs, radios, DVD players or phones in the rooms. Each room has a private bathroom with shower and locally made bath products. Other room amenities include mini-bars, hair dryers and tea kettles available upon request; daily maid service; laundry and ironing service available upon request; and babysitting. There is also a restaurant onsite, non-motorized water sports, massage services, and hiking tails leading from the hotel.

Tasty afternoon snacks
The location of this restaurant is perfect. Close to a wonderful beach, a hidden gem.
At 4.30 pm we needed an afternoon snack, we came in and received imediately welcoming attention. We ordered fish tacos, the fish was fresh and tasty, very well prepared, however the tacos bread was something else, a very thin tortilla bread with no taste, so thin that the filling was pouring out. I had a fish sandwich which was very nice indeed. We ordered two fresh passion fruit juices as well, but it definitely was not juices freshly made. It must have been water blended with concentrate. We've had fresh passion fruit juices in other places many times, thus we can easily make the difference.

We just returned from island of Grenada, after staying 10 nights at this beautiful, quaint,& very personable hotel/resort. The island was easy to get to,a staff member who we now call friend,John, was at the airport to meet us, give us the lowdown on the island during the 30 minute drive to La Sagesse. He's so helpful, and quite a friendly guy. He went out of his way many times for us over the 10 day stay! As did the managers, Sammi & Eldridge. The owner was there for a few days as well & what a great, down to earth guy! Thanks Mike for providing my husband and I with the wonderful staff & environment we were looking for. Everyone, from the housekeeping (who brought me flowers on my birthday), to the maintenance, security, wait staff, cooks, office gals, especially the ever sweet Caroline, to our driver John who also was one of the waiters,& great bartender, was fantastic to spend time with. They gave us the quiet space we needed, but helped us with happy faces with everything and anything we needed or wanted extra. This was our first visit to Grenada, but certainly not our first island trip as we travel quite a bit, and we have to say, Grenada, and LA Sagesse is one of our favorite places now. This trip we were looking for privacy, quiet, relaxation, small scale & that's exactly what we got with the nice atmosphere right on the secluded, sandy beach, warm waters, beautiful landscaping, clean, spacious room, nice patio area with terrific views of the ocean. We didn't rent a car, which was fine for us, so most of our meals we had at La Sagesse, known for its restaurant because of the great food, wide variety, nice staff,& scenic views. We hired a driver, guess who, John! who also has his taxi business, one day for full day of visiting spice farm, jam & jelly factory, 7 sisters waterfall, a lake in the rain forest, chocolate & rum factory too. Full day of beautiful scenery, & so educational. Another half day prior we toured part of the island and did a little shopping. Great place to visit, and to return too. Nothing super fancy, but right up our alley for some peace and quiet. Great job La Sagesse!
