La Casa del Abuelo boasts a prime location that allows families to explore all that the unique region has to offer, while still enjoying all the comforts of home. Cozy rooms can accommodate two guests, and rooms with balconies can be requested. Every room features a private bathroom, heating and a hair dryer. The views of the mountains and ruins from the hotel rooms are incredible. A complimentary breakfast is served every morning. While there are no onsite restaurant, the surrounding neighborhood has plenty of dining options. The front desk can assist guests with arranging tours of the ruins and treks through the old city.

We chose to stay in Ollantaytambo as our base for visiting Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. Even though the town is quite touristy it has the most incredible charm with cobbled streets and original Inca homes. Just breathtaking. And our choice of hotel was perfect perfect perfect!!! The ladies are just so lovely, warm and welcoming. The rooms are super comfortable and cosy and incredibly clean ... I’ve always been a “5-star” traveller but I’m now a 3-star convert (if you do your homework well) saving oodles of money for exploring the areas I’m in, and enjoying the charm of small and intimate. Highly recommend.

The hotel is a nice place to stay, ideally located if you want to visit the city and its archeological sites. It’s also really close to the train station, less than 10min walking and it looks much better than staying in Agua Calientes.
Rooms are clean, water is hot... the hotel is really lovely, and you will feel comfortable here. The owner is really friendly and will help you if you want some advice.
You can take away the breakfast if you go early and that’s perfect ????????
