The nicest among the 182 rooms and suites at this popular Kyoto hotel have outside terraces with views of the city and surrounding green hills. And quad rooms have four beds to sleep larger families in comfort. You’re right near the Kyoto Imperial Gardens here, and the Nijo castle is close by, too. There’s a fitness center onsite and several restaurants, including a Teppanyaki spot families love.

Made reservations at the last minute. This hotel was fabulous and the staff at the front desk was very helpful in helping us maneuver around Kyoto. The breakfast was excellent as well. Loved the music playing throughout the restaurant.

having lived and visited Japan many times my wife and I visited between rugby games to see old friends and the many great sights.
Brighton hotel was excellent, superb service, good food, and a comfortable corner room. a nice change from the impersonal large hotel in Tokyo. Two ladies on reception/concierge spoke super English, one married to a Welshman and another who had spent some years in London and both very helpful indeed.
