Perched high on a bluff overlooking the sparkling waters of Kachemak Bay, the Kenai Peninsula Suites offer some of the most unique luxury accommodations you’ll find anywhere in Alaska. Try out the two-story log yurt, The Puffin, which holds two king beds, a spacious living room, full-size refrigerator and a private deck. Kids will want to book the Bear and Wolf dens, two side-by-side underground cabins that you enter from above via a circular staircase. Each den holds a king bed and queen sleeper sofa, custom-built wood furniture, along with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, satellite TV, BBQ and private deck. Every guest can access the hot tub and fire pit each night while enjoying the views across the water. This is one of the quietest, most private accommodations in Homer.
The Kenai Peninsula Suites are just over 4 miles out of Homer. It’s an easy drive into town to find a good variety of shops and restaurants. Spend a few hours at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center, where you can learn about the local sea life before heading down a short trail to nearby wetlands and tide pools. Another fun place to visit is the Pratt Museum, which celebrates the history of Kachemak Bay with cool exhibits on native culture and the early homesteaders. Kids will want to go beachcombing on the Homer Spit, which is also home to a busy harbor where you can board a fishing charter to catch halibut or take a cruise across the bay to the scenic Grewingk Glacier Trail. With its stunning views, unique accommodations and quiet location, the Kenai Peninsula Suites are a perfect place to take your family on your Alaska vacation.
