Overview

When the Camelback Inn opened in 1936, it attracted Clark Gable, Bing Crosby and other glitterati. In 1967 Marriott purchased the 125-acre resort. In September 2008 Marriott completed a $50 million renovation of the lobby, courtyard and restaurants, debuting Trendy BLT Steak. In summer and during Christmas, kids 5 to 12 ride bikes, go on nature walks, take computer classes and listen to Indian tales at Hopalong College. Most of the 453 units are 550 square feet, offering families ample room plus the conveniences of kitchenettes and refrigerators. The property has a spa and three golf courses.

Reviews

Very good room, great food

by DCIrish

Definitely interested in a return visit. Stayed in a renovated room and it was very nice although not luxe. We loved the pools - if you are able to, try the adult pool that had it's own separate hot tub. Food for conference dinner and at Lincoln restaurant was great. Definitely order steak at Lincoln. Landscaping stood out as very well done.

Excellent Property

We were told the this is Mr. Marriott’s favorite property, and one can see why. It is largely composed of connected bungalows; most are one story. The layout is such that one meanders a good deal, but after a false start or two getting amount isn’t complicated. Additionally, there’s a plethora of golf carts with drivers happy to take you anywhere. I made use of the spa, which was very nice. In addition, the food was good, even for the catered meals. While it wasn’t the finest five star property I’ve stayed in, it was very, very good on all of the boxes one checks: accommodations, staff, layout, and food.
