I literally had no idea where I was going so I had no chance to read reviews or any expectations! I can honestly say I was blown away from the moment we arrived in Antigua with the smooth transition through immigration to the ferry dock! We were warmly welcomed by the very entertaining bar tender Jenny who served us with cocktails on arrival and continued to surprise us each evening with new exciting cocktails! Such an asset to Jumby! We were then taken to our beautiful beach villa which was extremely spacious with two sets of double doors opening to the most spectacular views of the Caribbean ocean! All the rooms are keyless - which I loved! Each room is given bicycles to explore the island to which we made good use of! Overall the food is very good. We loved breakfast delivered to our room daily! All laid out and presented perfectly! All in room dining is collected immediately after eating. The pool side bar was our favourite for lunch - spending a few hours enjoying the steak and lobster with champagne. Jackie served and entertained us daily! Such a sweet lady. We also enjoyed evening dining at the house. This beautiful plantation house oozes history with added ambience of the live music played in the background whilst eating the pianist and the band were my favourite! Thank you to the most beautiful Susan in the house who went over and above with her service and to The General who educated us most nights with all the history of the resort and the food! We absolutely loved the white night evening - live band on the beach with barbecue food served a real feel of a New Year’s Eve party on the beach! It was our best evening! The Caribbean evening was disappointing and could be improved - not a criticism an observation and the food in the verandah on the evening felt like it was way behind the rest of the resort in terms of food and service - just an observation but the evening entertainment was excellent. All the staff are so good and very accommodating. Loved Alexa so entertaining. Jumby Bay is a jewel in the crown in Antigua a place I wish to return to! A few small changes could make this resort probably one of the best in the world! One of the highlights of my trip was the castaway for 2. A private excursion for 2 aboard Jumby bays private yacht where we got to tour the island snorkel at bird island then a couples massage on the beach of an uninhabited island with lunch for 2 on the beach with white table cloth service! Thank you to the crew and the spa team that made this so special - you guys were amazing!

We visited Jumby again the last week of June. This was our fourth trip in four years so clearly we are fans of this property. It is a beautiful and relaxing destination. In the last year, there have been a number of changes implemented at the resort. The new pool by the main beach is really a nice addition. The new spa area is also really nice and now guests have use of dry sauna and wet steam rooms as well as an improved relaxation area. The Veranda got a nice face lift as did the bar area over by the main entrance. This year, instead of jumby beach bags, they had very nice jumby branded plastic zip bags and a little jumby cloth sack in the rooms as take away gifts. Both were very practical -- I used the plastic zip case to put my phone in at the beach. The also continued the practice of leaving a jumby branded sunglass cleaning cloth in the room. All small but thoughtful touches. They have changed the in room snacks and now have jumby branded bags of cashews, gummy bears, granola, and trail mix in the rooms which they keep stocked throughout the week. I will say that I missed the chocolate bars which they used to stock in the minifridge - but likely it is better for my weight that they stopped stocking those in the rooms. The new farm dinner was nice for something different. Also, they restocked on their beach floats and now they are plentiful (one or two at every palapa). They added buttons at each beach palapa so that you could call for service. We never felt a need to push our button as the beach staff was ever present when we were there and also the resort is never crowded at the end of June, but I guess for those busier times it is a nice touch. Each of the menus at the various restaurants got a refresh. Loved the new poke bowl that they added to the pool bar menu. Also "new" this trip -- a bunch of baby sheep that were born over the prior two weeks. Fun to see them frolicking around the island during my morning bike rides.
What stayed the same was the great staff -- they work so hard to make each guest have a special experience. Shout out to Geraldine and Patel at the Estate House. They just went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. In fact, each of our dinners at the Estate House were impeccable, from the food to the overall ambience. We really liked both of the piano players that they now have playing during dinner. Housekeeping was dependable each day and always did a great job refreshing the room and turning down each night like clockwork. We used room service one night and the food arrived when promised and was hot and delicious.
So what could be better? There were little glitches in service here and there. Drink orders that fell into a black hole or delays in getting food orders. Also, at times the inventory at the bars was not dependable-- like there was no prosecco at a couple of the bars for a few days. These are all small things that I am sure some people would be ranting about in a trip advisor review but we sort of overlook. If there is no prosecco at the beach bar, I drink champagne instead. Not the end of the world. Overall, Jumby Bay remains one of our favorite beach destinations. It is our dependable refuge that we escape to each summer to just chill out for a week. We love all of the improvements that have been made and look forward to seeing what new improvements they dream up over the coming year.
