Overview

This five-star property on Vanua Levu is a tropical wonder, lined with lush groves of towering palms and close to Savusavu village when you want to visit a real Fijian market town. There’s an onsite PADI dive center where you can get the kids certified to dive the nearby reefs of Namena. But the snorkeling is wondrous, too, with much to see just offshore from the resort’s beach. Eco-chic is the theme, with bungalows made from rich native timbers that lack air-conditioning but have every other necessary comfort. All-inclusive rates include meals and the wonderful kids’ club, as well as access to paddleboards, kayaks and Hobie Cats you can launch right from the small beach.

This was our 2nd trip to JMC and we enjoyed it so much more this time.
Don't expect the white sand beaches of other parts of Fiji or amazing rooms (they are still noisy). However expect lovely food, brilliant activities, amazing diving and one of the best kids clubs in the world.
The staff are what makes JMC, they are sensational! Warm, friendly, engaging, understanding, nothing is too much trouble. Everyone we came across was great, from reception to housekeeping to the dive shop to the restaurant to the bar (Gabi is the best). Not to mention the kids club guys/girls, they are the greatest - especially Ola and Calais.
The value for money is excellent at JMC and it is the type of resort that you still have a good time even if it rains!
The only change that should be implemented is having certain hours for kids to be able to use the main pool. Given the resort is all families, the main pool is totally under utilised.
Can't wait to go back!

We just spent a week here with our family (2 adults, and two kids aged 7 and 5) - and we had a blast.
The resort looks amazing, is very well run, and offers a ton of activities for both kids and adults. The Kids Club is unparalleled - there is a fantastic crew with hands-on staff, two marine biologists to take kids on snorkeling trips, mangrove walks, etc. The program was so well-run that we actually felt that wasn't enough time in the day to do all the fun stuff.
You can clearly see the focus on education and the influence of Mr Cousteau (he was actually in the resort during our stay, and even gave a presentation).
We can't wait to come back to Fiji and come back to the Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort!
