The hotel is on a quieter east side of Mauritius.. If you are looking for a relaxing quiet get away this is the place for you. The hotel itself is on a small private beach with enough sun loungers for everyone. Our room was very clean and large with a big balcony overlooking the sea. Bathroom is large with a big shower plenty of hot water and the water pressure is also very good . All the staff within the hotel, bar and restaurant were extremely helpful, friendly, cheerful and spoke very good English. There is a small shop for souvenirs on site. The spa is small but looked clean and the lady we spoke to was extremely helpful unfortunately we did not have time to have any treatments.
The food in the restaurant was extremely good a different theme each night and if there was nothing that you liked they would cook something for you. The breakfast omelette were amazing. Afternoon Crêpes by the pool were extremely good too.
The Choice of Spirit at the bar is very limited on an all-inclusive basis, But if you wish to pay for international spirits this can be added to a bill which you pay at the end of your stay. The bar also has a limited choice of cigarettes which if you’re a smoker you will find extremely useful as buying tobacco is impossible and finding anywhere that sells cigarettes is extremely difficult.
There is a small boat house where you can get pedalos, kayaks, snorkelling equipment and other water sporting goods. They also do boat trips from here at extremely reasonable prices and again are exceptionally helpful.
There is a bus service that runs directly from outside the gates into Flacq from where you can get almost anywhere or you can hire a car from reception at very reasonable prices.
That evening entertainment is low-key and finishes by 11:30 pm.
I personally would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for that relaxing break and will be going back myself..
There were a few minor painting and decorating issues but this could be as we went at the start of the season.
Thank you very much jalsa beach hotel.

I stayed with 5 others at this hotel to celebrate a birthday. Initial thoughts of the hotel were pleasant. Nice reception, very friendly welcome and walk round. When we first arrived, our rooms weren’t ready, so they let us go and enjoy lunch for an hour before letting us know when they were ready. Food was delicious! Staff were amazing in every sense of the word... a few really stood out but I can’t remember their names unfortunately.
Arranging excursions was a doddle. Everything was on time, straight forward and allowed us to really enjoy the trips with no stress or fuss!
The local bus stops right outside the hotel, and it’s only 27 rupees to get into Flacq the local town. Pennies!!
The beach at the hotel is lovely, although it can be a bit disheartening when the tide is in as the beautiful white sand beach disappears for a couple hours...
other than that the drinks were great, food was great, rooms were fab! Staff were great, everything was great!
The boat house on the corner which conducts water sports was also very helpful and polite... made trying out new water activities very easy and comfortable!
Thoroughly recommend
