Most of the 100 rooms at this popular hotel on Playa Norte have views of the sparkling blue Caribbean. If you’re traveling as a group, be sure to request rooms in the same building, as the property is fairly spread out. Umbrellas and beach chairs are free for guests to use on the beach. There’s an onsite coin laundry. And you can choose from standard rooms or one- and two-bedroom suites with separate living and sleeping areas and large terraces. The onsite restaurant has good food, too.

Excellent in every way

We travelled from Australia to Mexico and chose this resort. We are happy that we did. Staff were so attentive and friendly- shout out to Pablo our beach server, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in a two bedroom penthouse. Very clean and comfortable, good beds and great shower. Rooftop area with spa bath was fantastic. Will be recommending to friends

Privately Owned Penthouse did not disappoint

Stayed in one of the penthouses, but still got to experience the excellence of the Ixchel staff. Alexis was the first to greet us and the last to hug us goodbye. There was construction being done during our stay and he went above and beyond to make sure we had privacy and sent breakfast for us each morning. We did not ask for anything as we understand these things happen during off season. He took our order and made sure it was delivered each morning. Housekeeping did a great job of staying on top of our patio and entire condo. If you are going to the island, stay at this hotel if possible. Alexis is the best! We will be back as soon as we can fit it into our schedule.
