We arrived after nearly a 4 hour drive , only 2 disabled parking spaces . ( they need more ) very tired , run down on outside . Not like the website perceives.
Checked in to our rooms for a fashion event on , my room smelt like cat wee , only way to say it was disgusting, the girl on reception did move my room , tired , dated rooms with space but thin blankets .
Music blasting next room to me till 3 am then early around 9 am , has paper thin walls .
Cleaner kept knocking from 9 am onwards , no chance of a lie in away!
In evening went for food around 9 pm in restaurant , needs update , carpets are old looking . Very dead , no atmosphere . No one on bar for ten minutes.
Ordered 2 steaks , chicken Kiev . My mum said she was gluten free , they completely ignored this allergy ! I would worry . They put sauce on her food. Have no training on allergies, do not understand the concept .
My steak arrived , food cold , peas had been boiling for 3 days by look of it , sauce freezing cold . One mouthful and I went straight to complain , had no apology , just a crap attitude by manger . Took it away with a glare. The chef should be sacked - Weatherspoons could do a better job .
They forgot sauces , cutlery. I sent the food straight back was hungry allnight . The lady bartender did apologise, as I told her I was going to leave a terrible review to my 26,000 readers . Why is she apologising , send the chef out let him apologise for his lack of culinary skills.
Very obvious that customer service is not at the top of agender . To be honest I would say they have minimum wage , do not enjoy their jobs -this reflects the service given .
Take your money attitude, and leave .
My mother had the Merlin suite, lovely room , big lounge , needs more bins , maybe a mini fridge / ice bucket , needs some extras to really make it top of the range room.
You need upto date tv with Netflix , DVD player ....
I looked at the reviews before I came , was worse than I thought. Please can the manger not leave me the same generic message she sends everyone. You need to update hotel and listen to what is wrong. You are letting the town down . Would not be surprised if they went out of business. Very honest review , worst night sleep I have ever had in any hotel .

Arrived 12.00...loud music played in room above to 1.00pm . Started again at 5.30am until check out. Asked the reception to a couple of times to have a quiet word without any joy. The lady on the desk looked at me blankly...clearly not interested. Amused to note that the perpetrator was probably one of a coach load of elderly people. The rooms are spacious, if a bit old fashioned. Avoid the restaurant unless you want to try cuisine exactly as it was cooked in the 1980s (over cooked veg, salad doused in salad cream and an awful breaded deep fried ready made vegetable concoction). Thankfully the bar staff were helpful...
