Half of this property is a hostel-like lodge with shared bathrooms, but the newer part is well-suited to families with a swimming pool and even cottage and three-bedroom rental home options. The regular rooms are small and unspectacular, but families tend to spend most of their time outdoors in this part of Florida. In fact, the Ivey House doubles as a kayak and canoe outfitter that conducts paddling tours into the Everglades and Ten Thousand Islands and offers paddle-lodging packages.
The property is small and central to exploring the town of Everglades City, but you will probably need to drive to the Everglades National Park welcome center.

We stayed one night at Ivey House and really liked it. The rooms are spacious and clean. They also have a pool. The breakfast was good but I didn't like the amount of plastic waste everyone produces because everything is either packed in plastic or you eat with plastic cutlery and plates. I wish they would change that.

Great location, friendly staff and immaculate. Quaint little community, not far from Big Cypress National Park, 10,000 Islands and the Everglades. Great area outside the room to sit for happy hour. Peaceful and safe.
