This Newport Beach property caters to a crowd of families and vacationers, as well as business travelers. Colorful rooms with coast and bay views provide king or double queen options in standard rooms, while suites provide a homier environment. Suites feature separate living and sleeping areas, with some suites extra roomy and designed to accommodate longer-stay guests. The Newport Flat, for example, is nearly 1,500 square feet in size and features two bathrooms, a king bed and a full-sized living room with dining area. Connect it to a double queen and you can sleep seven.
Guests of the hotel will find rooms outfitted with CD and DVD players and free Wi-Fi. A heated outdoor swimming pool with whirlpool is surrounded by tropical plants to create an oasis in the city. Dining is available at the Oak Grill, which provides in-room dining.

I went for my grandfather’s birthday and, for the most part, it was great. We had a beautiful room and they left two complimentary cakes in the room saying “happy birthday”. Granted the cakes were stale and tasting weird by the time we came, it was a pretty nice addition. My only real complaints are the the pillows weren’t as soft as I would like, the location of the hotel is noisy, and the water was expensive ($5 a pop). However, the rooms came with complimentary tea and a pretty neat coffeemaker.

Very nice hotel. Good fitness center. Nice lobby and bar. Staff is friendly. And hard to beat the weather. Lots of good restaurants nearby, and a good one in the hotel too. It’s a bit far from the beach, but makes for a good run.
