on the Outer Banks or the Main Land, you can't beat this Inn for accommodations. Rooms are flawlessly clean with all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay. They also have bikes, kayaks, a dock on the bay, movie room and a great cafe. Breakfast included is cooked to order by their chef. Superb preparation of the food. They also offer a bountiful dinner menu including wines, etc. Service from the staff is unsurpassed. I don't think you will be disappointed with Inn on the Pamlico.

My wife and I spent a long weekend getaway at the Inn on Pamlico Sound. We love to get off the beaten path, and enjoy the smaller boutique hotels with excellent service and fantastic meal options nearby. The IOPS did not disappoint! Upon arrival Steve gave a quick tour of the facilities, including a good selection of reading material, theatre for those rainy days, the grounds which contains a garden of ingredients/herbs for the restaurant, and finally the room. There was a nice common sitting area with a fridge, afternoon cookies, and a carafe of local coffee in the mornings. The view of the sound was terrific with a long walkway to a dock overlooking the sound. There were two locations for firepits, one in a grassy area near the dock and the other on the sand on the other end of the property. The restaurant onsite was the one thing about our stay we enjoyed the most. Breakfast is included and was of high quality, the shrimp and grits were some of the best I've had! Dinner was even better with several choices ranging from lamb chops and steak to several kinds of seafood appetizers and entrees. Desserts were equally fantastic. We elected to eat off property one of our three evenings and discovered that the other options just don't compare.
The Inn is a short distance from the Hatteras lighthouse and provides beach towels and chairs for customer use. We also enjoyed taking the two person kayak into the sound from the property to watch the sunrise over the bay.
No detail is overlooked and it is obvious that Steve takes pride in the establishment he created and looks to improve or expand it routinely. The staff was friendly and attentive, particularly Dallas and the folks in the restaurant. For the price, you just can't do any better.
