Overview

Located at Diamond Cove on Great Diamond Island, this inn is situated within the former barracks of Fort McKinley. The 44 guestrooms and suites feature a fireplace, balcony and dining area. Many of the rooms also feature a kitchenette. Guests will love the outdoor pool and there is a cabana bar and fireplace nearby. The onsite restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. A ferry is needed to reach Diamond Cove and cars are not permitted on the island. Guests travel around by foot, golf cart and bicycle and the season opens in May.

A summer remembrance

Fantastic, we spent the day on Cliff Island, the motherland with family who still reside there and lobster for a living. Taking a boat taxi to Diamond Cove at sunset was breathtaking. We enjoyed an amazing fresh dinner at the Inn's restaurant down by the water and enjoyed an evening stroll before retiring to the quiet that only an island can offer and very comfortable beds and accommodations. Just wonderful!

This inn is beautiful and well appointed. The down side is the time of year when we visited. They were closing the following week. There was no place to eat with the exception of the inn. They were out of a lot from the menu. There is no place to get snacks or beverages. Most of the island is not accessible for a wheelchair.
