This no-frills resort is perfect for a budget-friendly getaway in the Catskills. Hunter Mountain Resort is close to area skiing and hiking, and is within steps of a playground and the Schoharie Creek — a private creek where guests can go swimming and fishing. The resort also offers a game room and motel-style rooms — some with kitchenettes.

This place has the same name as the actual mountains resort and gets reviews intended for it as a result. The actual place is definitely lower quality than sleeping in a tent.
Hands down worst place I've stayed and most recently was in a $3 per night hotel in Peru.

Could not find the place because the outside sign and lights weren't on. The area to check in reminded me of something you would see in a horror movie. Luckily the owners where nice & accommodating upon check in. Unfortunately, the room smelt awful & beds/pillows were so cement like we left at 5:00 a.m.. Between back & neck aches sleep on the second night was impossible! Also, forget being intimate....with sheer homemade curtains everyone will see what you are doing. Another downfall is that the room smelt awful like moth balls or mildew which linger & stuck to our clothes & suitcases. Overall, nice location but the owners need to invest more into moderizing their "resort" . Would not stay here again or recommended to anyone.
