I visited the resort with my wife and sister, and is very nice. Clean and well kept. Plenty of choices where to eat. All restaurants open, although not same night. Entertainment was very good and even though I didn’t participate, it seemed like fun and the young crowd was having a blast. Someone entertaining at the main plaza, for us, older folks, would have been nice. All in all, a very good resort for the money.

The resort is initially very beautiful, but very quickly you begin to find LOTS of flaws, to begin with the restaurant options are in a word...PATHETIC, a buffet option that is only open for breakfast and dinner, your options for lunch are really nothing but snack bar type offerings. The buffet when open for dinner virtually every single day had the exact same options...other Riu properties I have stayed at offered variations with different themes each night, not so here.
Moving on to the entertainment. The entertainment staff works pretty hard, and I do give them some credit for that, but, for example, they would stroll out and put up a grease board with a schedule of activities, when people showed up, the staff would stroll out 30...40 minutes after things were supposed to start....sums up my stay here perfectly!!
And the last thing...as I mentioned the resort property is HUGE, so TONS of walking!!! and for the final bad thing...except for the new building 7, all the other buildings have NO ELEVATORS...so you are lugging your luggage up multiple flights of stairs, and every single time you want/need to go back to your room....you are walking 1/4 to a 1/2 mile across the resort, and then needing to climb multiple flights of stairs...NOT what I am hoping for on vacation.
Bottom line for me, I have stayed at multiple Riu properties....this is one that I will NOT be returning to visit
