The hotel was amazing. Staff so nice !
Not too far from Cancun but nice and quiet. Would definitely recommend for someone who wants to relax with availability to have fun and go out . There is night club in the hotel next door and I could use it as well. Good Entertainment through the day and night

Firstly I’d like to say that pretty much everything about the hotel is absolutely amazing, beautiful location with unspoilt beaches, great choice of bars & restaurants - the best of which is the steak house, they hand lobster out like it’s shrimp back home! Special mention to Denis our waiter here 4 times, couldn’t do enough for us!
Rooms are big, clean and lovely.
The staff are EXCELLENT - especially when you tip them early on although they in no way make it seem like they are pushing for tips. Javier was our drinks server around the swim up pools, made sure we never had an empty glass!
Water park is a nice touch and plenty of activities on the beach, even if you do get the odd dodgy seller early in the morning. Go slightly later and the hotel seem to have got rid of them all!
Entertainment team are great, and the activities take park in a separate pool just for that which is nice as if you want to just chill (like the day after going to Coco Bongo for example ???? which by the way is an absolute MUST.) you can.
I only have 2 (minor) gripes.
1. The evening entertainment doesn’t go on late enough, show finishes at 9 then some fairly average bands, although admittedly at the Riu Dunimar next door there is a nightclub)
2. AND YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS - Costa Mujeres is a brand new development (so the beaches may not stay as perfect for long due to new hotels that are being built etc) and the Riu’s are the first two on this section really, and are the furthest away, TUI/First Choice say its a 20 minute cab ride from Cancun - it is absolutely is not! It’s 45 minutes on some pretty bouncy roads. However this is on the travel agents and not the hotel - do not let this put you off. I would definitely go again either here or any other hotel in the Riu chain.
One last point, Xcarat and a trip to Isla Mujeres & garrafon Park I cannot recommend enough, the water for snorkelling is like swimming through a bath full of tropical fish.
In summary - this hotel is great, but don’t expect to be able to pop into Cancun for the nightlife etc as quickly as advertised.
