I don't know much about the nuances of operating a hotel but I do know great service, and the team at the Palomar Chicago property should bottle and sell what they serve. From the front desk, bell captain, restaurant service (the breakfast potatoes are perfect), to housekeeping and front door attendants, they nailed it. Friendly (not overly), professional, helpful.
I requested a feather free room (bad allergies) and it took longer than expected to prepare. I received a text to let me know when the room was ready, and an apology for the delay. My room was feather free and very clean. A handwritten note and a bowl of m&m's arrived shortly thereafter.
Did they win me over? You bet. But it wasn't just that they treated me well. I watched, and they treat ALL hotel guests well.
