This is not a high end hotel. It is a good quality, very clean transit hotel in the heart of Male great for staying the night before heading to another island or back to the airport at a comparably reasonable price.
The hotel staff are very very friendly and helpful. They collected us from the airport as part of the service and took us the next day to our speed boat departure point.
They were interested to know if there was anything they could do better and recognised that they were in the middle of a bustling city rather than a top end harbour front hotel. But the hotel is very reasonably priced compared to others and is very clean.
It is in the hustle and bustle of the city with building work going on around it - we had banging after midnight as men were worked on the site opposite but we slept through most of it.
We had a welcome drink upon arrival and they recommended a superb restaurant for dinner which is open until midnight called Symphony. Check in was very quick and efficient and our room on the 7th floor was spacious, clean and had excellent air conditioning. There was a separate lounge and kitchen area too. There was a mini bar with choices of chocolate :-)

We stayed at octave only for a night in July, as we had to board an early morning flight, the hotel is good for layover, it's small but located in the centre of male city, so you can explore the city on foot. Also they provide a free pick up & drop at the airport which was great.
