The bed is about 6 inches too small. There's a rubber mattress protector underneath the bottom fitted sheet (the hotel's had a problem with people wetting their beds?), I've been sweating and sticking on/too it all night. The ac doesn't really work but it's March so the room started getting cooler about 2 this morning and the ac's loud. The wifi's been better but was fritzy when I first tried it. My room, 207, faces the plaza, there is light blaring in from the plaza and in from the halls of the hotel through the window in the bathroom which faces the hallway of the hotel; I woke at 3 this morning, all the lights in the room turned off but it's still bright enough to read and make one's way around the room very easily without turning on any lights. I've been here 15 hours and this is the list I've compile so far ~ consider carefully before you stay here ~ if you're looking for a restful/peaceful stay in Oaxaca you should probably pass of Hotel MdeV. This property is VERY OLD and VERY TIRED.

Right on the Zocalo so you are literally in the heart of the action - and staying here in the led up to Christmas there was MUCH action. I am a sound sleeper so wasn't particularly bothered by the noise however I can appreciate that this might be an issue for others (I booked very last minute for my trip so other hotels that had been recommended were booked up). Staff is friendly and the fruit plate for breakfast on the patio overlooking the Zocalo was a nice way to start the day
