Nice staff, but a lot of miscommunication and unresponsive to customer issues.

by Bree H

I recently hosted a party here and stayed overnight, and between issues with miscommunication as well as staff mistakes, it sadly wasn’t the experience I’d hoped for and honestly ruined what was supposed to be a joyous event. Issues happen...I understand that. But what matters most is how a company responds to a customer’s issues. I have been trying, for two weeks, to reach upper management to voice my grievances. And I have yet to hear back from anyone. What that says to me is that this is the kind of place that plays the part just long enough to get your business, and disregards you once they’ve gotten your money. And who really wants to give their business to a place like that?

One of my friends arrived and was given a key card to a hotel room that was STILL OCCUPIED BY CURRENT GUESTS AT THE HOTEL. She walked into “her room” to find an unmade bed and luggage that belonged to someone else. That should NEVER happen. As for the party, I rented the event space under the impression that I could occupy the space after a certain time as long as music wasn’t loud. My party guests were kicked out of the event room that I paid for by a courtesy officer at 11pm, although that was never mentioned to me beforehand and is nowhere in documentation for my booking. I was told that our party guests who booked a room for the night would receive a discounted rate, each and every guest who booked was denied the discounted rate and I had to call to speak to someone about it each time.

And still, after calls, emails and requests I’ve yet to hear back from anyone in upper management. This is a beautiful hotel and reasonably priced... but I don’t expect to be treated poorly just because an establishment is less expensive. Which is crazy because I had no trouble reaching anyone when it was time to pay the $1200 to host my event. I was looking forward to hosting more events here because I really did like the space, and the people were very nice initially, but I’d rather pay more at another establishment that is actually responsive to customer issues and consistent in how they treat me.

Comfortable Hotel

Cute hotel. It’s on the smaller side (6 floors), which made it a comfortable and easy stay. Anywhere you park (free parking) you are within a short walking distance to the entrance. Check-in was simple and fast. Room and bathroom are very spacious and colorful. Loved the shower which has great water pressure. Beds are very comfortable. The restaurant is super cute and the food was excellent as well the presentation. The best we have had in a hotel. We ordered breakfast there each morning. Hotel is tucked away off the road and is in the uptown part of downtown. Galleria right behind it. One thing I noticed each night was the security guard. He was walking around and scanning the lot one evening as we were coming in late. Passed him a couple of nights on our floor patrolling the halls. Will stay here again when we visit Houston in the future.
