Had a older twin bed room for part of vacation. Switched to newer building, much better. Suggest you consider room with frig and stove, there is a world class grocery store several blocks away. We dined out all over town and prices were very reasonable, We enjoyed the 3rd floor open air covered patio for reading & site seeing. Breakfast was europeon but nice, extras like bacon can be ordered for an up charge. In 50 years of vacationing think hotel would rank as best value. Town is amazing. A reef 1/2 mile off shore keeps out cruise ships and provides beach heaven with snorkeling and scuba if you wish. I mostly just walked and enjoyed , the city plaza is 1/2 block and I got a great massage on the beach,

In July, I stayed here for three nights, and chose it based on the reviews posted here. The descriptions were dead on. It is a quiet, small, rustic hotel, about a block from the main square and two from the beach. The room I had was spacious and clean. The AC worked quite well, and I was thankful as the weather was mighty hot. It was also nice to have reliable internet. There were very few guests at El Moro when I was there, so I had the pool to myself! All the rooms have their own outside sitting area, which is not a private deck, as it is off the walkway to get to the room, but it was shaded and pleasant. The pictures posted are quite accurate to get an idea of the set up. The staff was most friendly, helpful and respectful. The hotel's location is ideal, as there are numerous restaurants within walking distance, as well as a very fancy but reasonably priced grocery store, the craft market, and the beach. One night I ate at the hotel's restaurant and the fish plate I ordered was quite delicious. I would certainly stay here again, especially if I want a quiet, low-key, safe and inexpensive getaway.
