This is a beautiful hotel in a magnificent setting. We stayed there in the last week or so before they closed down for the winter and felt perhaps everyone was tired and demotivated. The service was incredibly slow, particularly at breakfast when it took 15 minters just to get a cup of tea! The breakfast buffet was extensive but I am gluten free and when I asked for some kind of pastry or bread to toast I was shown a small table with tiny packets of Schar crostini. Even these had disappeared by the end of the week. The couple of dinners we had were also very inadequate for a 5 star hotel that should be able to make dishes that match the quality of the rest of the guests....what I was offered certainly didn’t. What a shame as it could have been so special staying in such a world famous hotel.
